Inspiring the Youth at CMU
During family weekend at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), there was a blend of community and innovation when Russell Ivey, leader of the Black Employees Network, introduced a group of his students from his church to Toyz Electronics, Inc. This event was a learning experience that allowed young students to explore their creativity through technology.
At this event, students got up close, hands-on experience with Toyz Electronics’ innovative projects, which aim to connect education with the digital world, especially for individuals who excel in gaming or traditional learning environments. Various aspects of the organization were explored, teaching students how video game platforms are used to support STEM education and how to apply this knowledge in the real world and educational contexts.
This collaboration was impactful and demonstrated how local institutions such as CMU and community leaders can come together and work towards inspiring the next generation of innovators. By bridging the gap between education, technology and culture, Toyz Electronics and CMU showcased the power of mentorship and inclusion, encouraging students to be leaders in technology. This event highlights the commitment to fostering diversity and access within the evolving tech landscape.
