Toyz Electronics Obawole Idowu Honored as Carnegie Mellon Swartz Center Success Story

Pittsburgh, PA- Obawole (Wole) Idowu, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Toyz Electronics, has been honored by Carnegie Mellon University’s Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship for his innovative contributions to education and technology. Alongside his father, Wole developed a gamified platform designed to bridge the learning gap for Gen Z by integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts into an interactive gaming environment.

Toyz Electronics’ platform provides resources, mentorship, and a marketplace where users can showcase their talents while preparing for the workforce. Through their STEAM Superhero Rap initiative, students are encouraged to use STEAM principles to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. By leveraging a platform familiar to younger generations—gaming—the company aims to make learning accessible and engaging.

Carnegie Mellon played a pivotal role in Wole’s journey. Resources such as the Swartz Center, the DEI Center, and the Internet Technology Center supported the development of the Toyz platform, ensuring it aligned with the evolving needs of Gen Z.

This recognition highlights Wole’s dedication to empowering the next generation of innovators and his commitment to creating impactful educational tools through technology.
